Direct Debit collects the same amount from your customer's bank account every week or every month, after the customer authorises it once through online banking. It suits memberships, subscriptions, tuition fees and regular donations.

## Set up a Direct Debit form

Direct Debit runs on a normal payment form. See [Create a payment form](/create-payment-form/) for the basics, then:

1. In the form's **Payment Details** tab, choose your **Portal Key**.
2. In **Payment Option**, choose **Direct Debit**. BCL lists it only when your portal offers Direct Debit. You cannot combine Direct Debit with other payment options. BCL makes the email field required.

3. Under **Direct Debit Settings**, choose the **Frequency**: **Weekly** or **Monthly**.
4. For monthly forms, choose one or more options in **Total Recurring Months**. Two of the options are **Never End (Until Cancelled)** and **1 year (12 months)**. Your customer chooses one of these when they sign up.
5. Click **Add Payment Form**, or **Update Form** for an existing form.

You cannot turn on affiliates for a Direct Debit form. Your Direct Debit forms appear under the **Recurring Forms** tab of your forms list.

## What your customer does

To sign up, your customer:

1. Fills in the form, with **Identification Type** and **Identification Number**.
2. On a monthly form, chooses a **Subscription Duration** from the options you offered.
3. Authorises the mandate on their bank's online banking page.

The bank then checks the application before deductions start. See [When Direct Debit deductions happen](/direct-debit-deductions/).

## Track your mandates

To see every application and its deductions:

1. Go to **Payments** → **Direct Debit**.

2. Open a tab:

   | Tab | What it shows |
   | --- | --- |
   | **All Application** | Every sign-up, with the number of applications in its badge. |
   | **Active Enrolment** | Active mandates, with the total amount of those mandates in its badge. |
   | **Total Deduction** | Deductions, with the number collected so far in its badge. |

3. Click **View Details** on a row to see the customer's deductions and **Application Histories**. For an active mandate, click **View Mandate** to open the mandate record on Bayarcash.

To send each new mandate and deduction to your own system, see [Direct Debit webhook](/webhook-direct-debit/).

## Common issues

### Can I add FPX or DuitNow QR to my Direct Debit form?

No. You cannot combine Direct Debit with other payment options. Create a separate form for one-off payments.

### Why is the affiliate setting greyed out on my Direct Debit form?

You cannot turn on affiliates for a form that uses Direct Debit.

### Where do I see who has signed up?

Go to Payments → Direct Debit. The page lists each customer's application, its status and its deductions.
