# Download or share a receipt

> Download a PDF receipt for a paid transaction, or send your customer a link to their receipt on WhatsApp.

Every paid transaction has a receipt that you can download as a PDF or share with your customer as a link. You get both from the transaction's actions menu on the **Transactions** page.

## Download a PDF receipt

For a successful or completed payment:

1. In the sidebar, click **Transactions** and find the transaction. See [Find a transaction](/transactions/).
2. Open the actions menu at the end of the row and choose **Download Receipt**.

3. BCL asks you to confirm. Click **Download**.

The PDF opens in a new browser tab, where you can save or print it.

## Share a receipt with your customer

The receipt page gives you a link that your customer can open. Your customer does not have to sign in to BCL:

1. Open the actions menu on the transaction and choose **View Receipt**. The receipt opens in a new tab.
2. Click **Share**. On an unpaid transaction, the button is **Share Receipt**.

3. Choose **WhatsApp** to send the receipt link in a WhatsApp message, or **Copy Link** to paste it anywhere else.

On a paid receipt, **Download PDF** next to **Share** gives you the same PDF as **Download Receipt**.

> **Tip**
> If your customer needs an invoice, choose **Download Invoice** in the same menu. It gives a PDF invoice with the latest payment status.

## Common issues

### Why is there no Download Receipt option for this transaction?

A PDF receipt is proof of payment, so BCL only offers it for Successful and Completed transactions. For other statuses, use View Receipt to see the status, or Download Invoice.

### My customers keep asking me for old receipts. Can they get them themselves?

Yes. Send them to the Customer Portal at your domain followed by /customer. They sign in with the email or phone number they paid with, and a one-time code. They then see their orders and receipts from your shop.
