Choose the right form type

Updated

BCL has a different form for each kind of sale: payment forms for products and fees, event forms for tickets, booking forms for appointments and lead forms for sign-ups. Pick the form that matches what your customer is doing, then choose how it is priced and how it looks.

Before you create any form, connect an approved Bayarcash account to BCL. See Connect Bayarcash.

Each kind of form has its own menu in the dashboard:

  • Payment forms (Payments → Forms): sell products or services, collect fees and take donations. See Create a payment form.
  • Event forms (Events → Events): sell tickets and register attendees. This needs the Event Management add-on.
  • Booking forms (Bookings → Forms): let customers book a service, court or room in a time slot.
  • Lead forms (Lead Management → Lead Forms): collect sign-ups without taking a payment. This needs the Lead Forms add-on.

On a payment form, open the Payment Details tab and choose a Price Setting:

The Payment Details tab with the Price Setting field highlighted

  • Single Amount: one fixed price, for example a registration fee. Enter it in Amount.
  • Open Amount (User Input): the customer types how much to pay. Good for donations and pay-what-you-want.
  • Multiple Items: a list of products, each with its own price and stock. You add them in List of Items, below the tabs. Use this to sell digital products.
  • Items with Variations: products with options such as size or colour, each option with its own price and stock. You add them in Variation Items, below the tabs.

The Variation Items section with the Item Name field and the Options table (Name, Amount (RM) and Stock) highlighted

Each price on a payment form can be up to RM 99,999: the Amount of a Single Amount form, and the Amount (RM) of every item and variation option. Until 24 August 2026 the limit was RM 9,999. A Single Amount form needs at least RM 1, while an item or option can be RM 0 to give it away free.

For a bigger amount, use Open Amount (User Input), where BCL sets no upper limit, or send a payment link. Your customer’s bank or payment channel may still have its own limit for one payment.

With Items with Variations, every option your customer picks goes into the order as its own line, with its own price and quantity. To sell more than one design, each in several sizes, make one variation item per design and put the sizes in it as options.

To set it up on a payment form:

  1. On the Payment Details tab, set Price Setting to Items with Variations.
  2. In Variation Items, type the first design in Item Name, for example “Design A”.
  3. Under Options, add one row per size (S, M, L) with its Amount (RM) and Stock. Use Add option (Max 15) for more sizes.
  4. Click New variation (Max 6) and do the same for the next design.
  5. Leave Required Selection off, as it is by default.

Your customer taps a design, picks a size, and sets the quantity with + and - under Your Selection. For the same design in a second size, they open that design again and pick the other size: it becomes a line of its own. Tapping a size that is already picked takes it out.

The buyer page with Design A in M and Design B in L picked, and Your Selection showing M (Design A) quantity 2 at RM 98.00 and L (Design B) quantity 1 at RM 55.00

In this example, two Design A shirts in M at RM 49 and one Design B shirt in L at RM 55 come to RM 153.00 in one payment.

A form takes up to 6 variation items (designs) with up to 15 options (sizes) each. For more designs, use Multiple Items with one item per design and size, up to 50 items, or split the designs over several forms. To make customers buy from at least two designs, set Minimum Variation Types under Minimum Requirements to 2.

The Clothing / Apparel template (Payments → Forms → Templates) is already set up this way, with one variation item per colour (Black, White and Navy Blue) and 5 size options in each.

BCL has no deposit, part-payment or instalment setting. Every order is paid in full in one payment, and there is no balance for BCL to collect later. To take a deposit today:

  1. Sell the deposit on its own: a Single Amount form, or an item such as “Booking deposit” in Multiple Items, priced at the deposit.
  2. When the balance is due, send your customer a payment link for the rest from Quick Actions → Payment Link, with the first order number in Remark Order.

If the deposit amount differs for each customer, Open Amount (User Input) lets them type what they agreed with you. Check each payment, since BCL does not check the amount against anything.

Type of Form, on the same tab, sets how the page looks and behaves:

Type of Form What the customer sees Where you set it up
Payment The standard payment form The form’s tabs
Donation A donation form with a Target Amount, a progress bar and a countdown to an end date The Donation tab

Custom HTML Your own HTML design. See HTML form shortcodes Open HTML Editor
Landing Pages A page built with blocks Edit Landing Page
Video Sales (Beta) A video-led sales page The Videos tab

Open HTML Editor and Edit Landing Page save the form before they open the editor.

To show only the page, with no payment form, switch on Use as minisite under Form Configuration → Form Status. Use it for a sales page whose button leads to a separate checkout form. See Build a two-step funnel.

Under Payment Configuration, choose the Bayarcash Portal Key, then the channels to offer in Payment Option, such as FPX or DuitNow QR. The list depends on what that portal has switched on.

Common issues

How many variations can I set up for clothes with sizes and colours?

With Items with Variations you can add up to 6 variation items per form, each with up to 15 options. Every option has its own price and stock, and each option the customer picks is charged as its own line, so make one item per colour or design with the sizes as its options. See Sell several designs in one form.

Is there a limit on how many items I can put in one payment form?

Yes. Multiple Items takes up to 50 items per form. When you reach 50, the Add Item button disappears. Split a bigger catalogue into several forms, one per category.

Why can't I see all payment channels in Payment Option?

Payment Option only lists the channels switched on for the portal chosen in Portal Key. Turn on more channels for that portal in the Bayarcash Console, then pick them in the form.

Can my customer pay a deposit first and the balance later?

BCL has no deposit or part-payment setting: each order is paid in full in one payment. Sell the deposit as its own item or form, then send a payment link for the balance. See Take a deposit.

Why can't the item price be more than RM9,999?

The limit was raised to RM 99,999 on 24 August 2026, for Amount and for the Amount (RM) of items and variation options. For a bigger amount, use Open Amount (User Input), which has no upper limit in BCL, or a payment link.

Can a customer buy more than one design (each with its own size) in one checkout?

Yes, with Items with Variations. Add one variation item per design, with the sizes as its options. The customer picks a size under each design they want, sets the quantity under Your Selection, and pays for all of them in one payment. See Sell several designs in one form.

My item name is cut off. How long can it be?

An item name can have up to 50 characters. The item's Description under More also takes up to 50 characters, and a Highlight Label up to 20. Use a short name that customers can scan quickly, and put longer details in the form's description.

How many forms can I create?

There is no limit on the number of forms, on any account. The limit is storage for the files you upload, such as product photos and digital files. Go to Tools → Media Manager to see how much storage you have used.
