Send WhatsApp notifications with Wabot, Wasapbot or Nakwasap (0:28)

BCL can send a WhatsApp message to your customer, to you, or both, when a payment succeeds or fails. Messages go out from your own WhatsApp number through Wabot, Wasapbot or Nakwasap, so you need an account with one of them.

Start in your provider’s dashboard (Wabot, Wasapbot or Nakwasap): connect your WhatsApp number and copy its credentials. Wabot and Wasapbot give you an Access Token and an Instance ID. For Nakwasap, create an API key under Settings → Developers and note the instance name of your connected number. Then, in BCL:

  1. In the sidebar, go to Platform Setup → Integrations.

The Platform Setup menu in the BCL sidebar, with Integrations highlighted

  2. Find the Wabot, Wasapbot or Nakwasap card. Click WhatsApp at the top right to show only the WhatsApp cards. Then click Connect on your provider’s card. A panel opens with a short setup guide.

The Integrations page filtered to WhatsApp, with Connect highlighted on the Wabot card

  3. Under API Credentials, turn on Enable Wabot integration (or Enable Wasapbot integration, Enable Nakwasap integration).

  4. Paste the Access Token and Instance ID, then click Verify Connection above the token. You should see Connection Successful with your WhatsApp name.

For Nakwasap, the fields are API Key and Instance Name.

  5. Enter the Admin phone number that should receive admin alerts. Every WhatsApp provider shares this number, and a form can send its alerts to a different number.

  6. Click Save Wabot (or Save Wasapbot, Save Nakwasap).

The switch on the card turns the provider on or off later. Your credentials stay saved when it is off.

You choose the provider and messages on each form. Payment, event and booking forms have a Notifications page; lead forms have a similar WhatsApp Notifications tab under Additional.

  1. Open the form, for example under Payments → Forms, and click Edit.

  2. Click Notifications, then the WhatsApp Notifications tab. Until a provider is connected, the tab shows Connect a WhatsApp provider first and the switches are greyed out. Manage next to WhatsApp Provider opens the WhatsApp cards on the Integrations page.

  3. Pick your WhatsApp Provider: Wabot, Wasapbot or Nakwasap. A provider that is not connected yet shows (Not connected) and cannot be picked. Optional: enter an Admin Phone (Override) to send this form’s admin alerts to a different number.

  4. Turn on the messages you want: Enable Success WhatsApp (Customer), Enable Failed WhatsApp (Customer), Enable Success WhatsApp (Admin) and Enable Failed WhatsApp (Admin).

  5. Write each template, or click Use Default for a ready-made one. Click Variables to see placeholders such as {name}, {amount} and {receipt_url}. Each message can be up to 1,000 characters.

  6. Click Save Notification Settings.

For more control, such as reminders or messages at other moments, use a Send Wabot, Send Wasapbot or Send Nakwasap step in BCL’s automations. See Send a WhatsApp after payment.

Common issues

How do I set up Wabot, Wasapbot or Nakwasap in BCL?

Connect your WhatsApp number in your provider's dashboard and copy the credentials: Access Token and Instance ID for Wabot or Wasapbot, API Key and Instance Name for Nakwasap. Then go to Platform Setup → Integrations, click Connect on the provider's card, turn on the integration, paste the credentials, click Verify Connection and click Save Wabot (or Save Wasapbot, Save Nakwasap).

My WasapBOM notifications stopped working. What do I do?

WasapBOM is no longer supported. If it is still on for your team, Platform Setup → Integrations shows a WasapBOM card: click Switch off on it, then Switch off WasapBOM. Connect Wabot, Wasapbot or Nakwasap, then pick the new provider in each form's WhatsApp Notifications tab.

The WhatsApp settings on my form are greyed out. Why?

No WhatsApp provider is connected yet. The tab shows Connect a WhatsApp provider first. Connect Wabot, Wasapbot or Nakwasap under Platform Setup → Integrations, then reload the form.
