Set your gateway fees
A gateway fee is an amount added to your customer’s total to cover the Bayarcash charge. It depends on the payment channel the customer picks at checkout. You set the fee for each channel once, then choose on each form whether to charge it. To have your customer pay the whole charge so you receive the full sale, use the Full Payout fee type. This is step 2 of 4 to your first sale.
Check your current Bayarcash rates in the Bayarcash Console before you set your fees.
Set the fee for each channel
Section titled “Set the fee for each channel”Only the account owner and admins can change gateway fees. To set them:
-
Go to Platform Setup → Gateway Fee.

-
Pick the tab that holds the channel:
Tab Channels Standard Channels FPX, Direct Debit, Line of Credit and DuitNow OBW QR Payment Channels DuitNow QR (Malaysia), which includes SPayLater QR and Boost PayFlex QR, and DuitNow QR (Cross-Border), which covers Indonesia (QRIS), Singapore (NETS), Thailand (PromptPay) and China (Alipay, WeChat Pay). One rate applies to every channel in the row. Enterprise Package Cards, e-wallets and pay-later, such as Touch ’n Go eWallet, Boost Wallet, GrabPay, Grab PayLater, SPayLater and Credit Card
-
Turn on Enable for each channel you want to charge a fee on.
-
Choose a Fee Type. Every channel on every tab offers the same four types:
Fee Type What BCL adds to the sale Use it when Fixed The same Fixed Fee on every sale Bayarcash charges a flat amount on the channel, such as FPX Percentage A Percentage Fee of the sale amount You want the added fee to match the rate exactly, and accept being a few sen short on each sale Combined A Fixed Fee plus a Percentage Fee of the sale amount Bayarcash charges a flat amount plus a percentage, and you accept being a few sen short Full Payout Enough that, after Bayarcash takes its percentage of the total, you still receive the full sale. The Fixed Fee is optional. Bayarcash charges a percentage and you want your customer to pay all of it
-
Fill in the amounts the type needs. For Percentage and Full Payout, enter your Bayarcash rate as the Percentage Fee, for example 1.6. For Full Payout on a channel where Bayarcash also charges a flat amount, enter it as the Fixed Fee.
-
Optional: for Percentage, Combined or Full Payout, set a Minimum Fee. When the calculated fee comes out lower, the minimum is charged instead. Leave it blank for no minimum.

-
Optional: turn on SST for a channel if Bayarcash charges 8% SST on its fee for that channel. See When to turn on SST.
-
Check the result in the Fee Calculator under the table: enter a Sale amount and pick a Payment channel. It shows the Customer fee, what the Customer pays, the Gateway fee and what You receive, using the rates on screen even before you save.

-
Click Save Settings.

Channels you switch off charge no fee, and BCL keeps their rates so you can switch them back on later. In the Fee Calculator, a switched-off channel shows as (Disabled) and cannot be picked. Click How It Works on the page for worked examples.
Choose who ends up paying the fee
Section titled “Choose who ends up paying the fee”Bayarcash charges its rate on the full amount your customer pays, and that amount already includes the gateway fee BCL added. With Percentage, BCL works out the fee on the sale amount only, so the fee on the added fee is left for you to pay. Full Payout works it out on the total instead, so your customer covers all of it.
Here is a RM 3,000 sale on a channel where Bayarcash charges 1.6%, as the Fee Calculator shows it:
| Fee Type (1.6%) | Customer fee | Customer pays | Gateway fee | You receive |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Percentage | RM 48.00 | RM 3,048.00 | RM 48.77 | RM 2,999.23 (RM 0.77 short) |
| Full Payout | RM 48.78 | RM 3,048.78 | RM 48.78 | RM 3,000.00 (Full sale) |
The gap grows with the rate and the sale. At 2% on RM 3,000, Percentage leaves you RM 1.20 short. With Full Payout, the Nett Amount on each Bayarcash transaction matches your sale amount.
BCL works out the Full Payout total as (sale amount + Fixed Fee) ÷ (1 − rate), rounds it to the nearest sen, then adds a sen at a time until what you receive covers the sale.
When to turn on SST
Section titled “When to turn on SST”Turn on SST for a channel when Bayarcash charges 8% SST on its gateway fee for that channel. SST is charged on the gateway fee, not on the sale. With SST on:
- The fee BCL adds covers the SST too. A RM 1.00 Fixed fee becomes RM 1.08, and the Minimum Fee rises by 8% in the same way.
- Full Payout grosses up for the gateway fee and its SST, so you still receive the full sale.
- The Fee Calculator shows an extra SST (8%) line between Gateway fee and You receive.
Leave it off when Bayarcash charges no SST on its fee for the channel. Otherwise your customer pays more than the charge.
Charge the fee on a form
Section titled “Charge the fee on a form”The rates only reach your customer when the form has the fee turned on:
-
Open the form and go to the Form Configuration tab.
-
Under Payment Settings, turn Enable Gateway Fee on to add the fee to your customer’s total, or off to absorb it yourself.

-
Click Update Form (or Add Payment Form for a new form).
BCL works out the fee on the form total your customer pays: after any coupon, and including shipping and tax.
A few habits keep your fees accurate:
- Use Full Payout when your customer should pay the whole charge. It takes the fee on the fee into account, so you receive the full sale without working out a rate by hand.
- Enter the rate Bayarcash charges you, channel by channel. Rates differ by channel and by merchant agreement, and the Fee Calculator assumes Bayarcash charges the rate you set, so check each one in the Bayarcash Console.
- Preview before you save. Try a typical sale in the Fee Calculator: a “short” badge next to You receive means you are paying part of the fee yourself.
- Check one real transaction after you change a rate. The Nett Amount in Bayarcash should match your sale amount when the fee is fully covered.
Next step: Add your company details.
Common issues
Who pays the gateway fee, me or my customer?
You decide per form. With Enable Gateway Fee on, the fee is added to your customer's total. With it off, no fee is added and you absorb the Bayarcash charge. The toggle is on by default for new forms. To have your customer cover the whole Bayarcash charge, use the Full Payout fee type.
Why can't I fill in the Minimum Fee field?
Minimum Fee only works with the Percentage, Combined or Full Payout fee type. It stays greyed out when the channel's Enable switch is off, when no Fee Type is chosen, or when the type is Fixed.
Does a Minimum Fee stop customers paying small amounts?
No. It only sets the lowest fee added to a sale. Customers can still check out below it. To block small orders, raise your prices or set a minimum order on the form instead.
Why is my Bayarcash fee RM 48.77 when I added RM 48?
Bayarcash charges its rate on everything it receives, and that includes the fee you added. On a RM 3,000 sale with a 1.6% Percentage fee, your customer pays RM 3,048, and 1.6% of RM 3,048 is RM 48.77, so you receive RM 2,999.23. Switch the channel's Fee Type to Full Payout with the same 1.6%: BCL adds RM 48.78, and you receive the full RM 3,000. See Choose who ends up paying the fee.
Which fee applies when a customer from Singapore pays with NETS?
The DuitNow QR (Cross-Border) row on the QR Payment Channels tab. One rate covers NETS (Singapore), QRIS (Indonesia), PromptPay (Thailand), Alipay and WeChat Pay. The customer pays in RM. See Accept payments from Singapore with NETS.
